Starting in 2027, Google is raising the minimum to 500×500px. Can I have any text on my product image?+

No promotional text is allowed. This includes 'SALE', 'NEW', '50% OFF', 'LIMITED EDITION', price overlays, discount badges, and seller watermarks. Text that's genuinely part of the product itself (book cover titles, brand logos printed on clothing) is fine. The test is whether the text is product content or promotional decoration — only product content is allowed.

Yes, lifestyle photography is allowed, but the product must be the clear subject of the image. Google wants the product to occupy at least 75% of the frame. A model wearing your dress on a beach at sunset works if the dress is the focal point and clearly visible. A model on a beach where the dress is a small element of a wide-angle scene will be flagged. For apparel, Google also recommends including at least one pure product shot (white background) as your primary image with lifestyle shots as additional gallery images.

How long after fixing images does the warning clear?+

After replacing the image and updating the feed (via manual feed fetch), Google re-scans the new image within 24–48 hours. The low-quality warning typically clears within 3–7 business days of the re-scan. If Google's quality classifier still flags the replacement, you'll get another warning — try a different image angle, higher resolution, or remove any remaining overlays.
